The last command of Jesus to His disciples before He ascended to His Father:
Matthew 28; 19,20. Going therefore, disciple all the nations baptising them 'into' (Gk.eis pronounced 'ice' means significantly more than simply the preposition 'in') i.e. into 'The Name'.
The name = (the nature & the character of The Father and of The Son).
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you.
And lo, I am with you all the days until the completion of the age.
What is a disciple? = One who attaches himself to another.
Webster's dictionary: = A follower of Jesus.
Greek: 'Mathetes' = A learner = A pupil = An adherent = A follower who accepts instruction given and makes it his rule of conduct.
Read Mark 1:16-20 They forsook their nets, and followed Him.
Read Luke 5:1-11 They forsook all and followed Him.
What is discipleship? = Adherence to a teacher's faith and walking in His ways.
John 8:12 I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
What is the proof of discipleship? = Obedience
John 8:31 If you continue/abide in My word, then are you My disciples indeed.
John 14,15. If you love Me, keep My commandments.
Exercise : Peter asked Jesus a question: We have forsaken all, and followed you; what shall we have? Matthew 19:27.
